Favorite Movie Titles Blogathon!

By s. Wednesday, May 21, 2014
Lovely Brittani or Rambling Film is hosting her first ever blogathon. It revolves around the idea of choosing your favorite movie titles, for each letter of the alphabet. You don't have to like the movies you choose or even watch them, I suppose, but as it happens the ones I chose are all the films I enjoyed.

Rules:

1) Going through the alphabet, list your favorite movie title beginning with each letter.

2) You don't have to necessarily like the movie to use it's title.

3) Use the banner at the top of this post in yours.

4) Please have submissions in by Friday, May 23rd. (But I'll be honest, if you send them to me after that date, I'll still add them to my post.)

  1. This looks absolutely stunning! Thank you so much for joining in! I love that you chose Rust and Bone. Why didn't I think of that?!

    1. Thank you! That title and Cotillard's performance are probably my favorite things about this film :)

  2. This looks gorgeous! Awesome choices, by the way. I was very close to picking titles like Eyes Wide Shut, Mulholland Drive and Intolerable Cruelty as well. :)

    1. Thanks! I almost bumped MD for something else but I figured, nah, it's too good of a title :)

  3. Oh, great fucking list. It's good to see that the choices are diverse with some classics and some camp.

    1. I only looked at the titles not genres, but on second thought it looks like camp has some awesome titles :P

  4. Sati, great job! Looks great. I love your choices.

  5. I'm having trouble with some of the letters but your choices seem good.. Fear and Loathing.. that title is really appealing for me for some reason. It's hard to choose something else with X other than X-Men.. such a shame. :D

    1. Yeah it is, considering how I think most of those X Men flicks are painfully average :)

  6. This looks gorgeous! I love the fact that you have Practical Magic, Rust and Bone & Heavenly Creatures on there, all fantastic and unfortunately underrated films.

  7. Great list! I particularly love Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - very catchy title, as well as Girl, Interrupted.

    1. These two were some of the first that came to my mind, they just capture the respective movies so well.

  8. Awesome list! Love Heavenly Creatures being listed, and while I think that Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is the ultimate film title, Eyes Wide Shut is such a brilliant film name! E was easily the best letter.

    1. I always found 'Eternal...' to be a little bit too labored. I like clever titles but the ones that don't look like everyone involved tried so damn hard to come up with something smart.

  10. This is awesome. You've got great titles and it looks cool as shit. I particularly like Thank You For Smoking and The Long Kiss Goodnight as film titles, but the rest are all solid picks.

Shame. Ugh. What a perfect title for that movie......

    2. Yeah, I've definitely seen TYFS, but I don't think I ever caught The Long Kiss Goodnight. I should check it out. Davis and Jackson, right?

    3. Yep! It's one of those entertaining 90's actions flicks - the performances are good and there is plenty of camp there :) Davis is amazing in the movie.

  11. That there is a pretty good selection of films. I will have to confess, I am a bit surprised that the only two we both seem to have put on our lists were Angel Heart and Eyes Wide Shut, both of which I would have thought wouldn't be obvious choices (but very good ones nonetheless).

If it's of any interest I recently started a blogathon of my own, perhaps you'd like to check it out:

  13. Oooh I love your presentations here Sati, very artistic! Interesting that you picked 2 Days in Paris, I just saw it this weekend as my hubby & I wanted to see something set in that city before our trip. Not surprised at all for your pick on B :) Oh and I think we'd have X in common.
